About us

The Medical Libraries are part of the Evaluation Unit together with the HTA center. HTA - Health Technology Assessment - involves the evaluation of healthcare technologies and methods to support the work of increasing evidence-based healthcare.

The Medical Libraries provide important support for employees within Sahlgrenska University Hospital regarding evidence-based practices, research, education, development, and innovation (FoUUI). We offer this through the librarians' expertise, services in information retrieval and reference management, as well as guidance and teaching in these areas. The libraries also provide literature in printed and digital form, reference databases, journals, and clinical knowledge support. Within the unit, there are three physical libraries at Sahlgrenska Hospital, Östra Hospital, and Mölndal Hospital.

Job responsibilities:

As a librarian, you will have varied tasks as we in the workgroup take joint responsibility for driving and developing the operations. The position includes working at the information desk, providing guidance in information retrieval, and promoting the library's services and resources. Job tasks and responsibilities may be adapted based on previous experiences and knowledge and the needs of the operation.

Are you the one we are looking for?

A degree in library and information science is required, as well as the ability to express yourself easily in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. You are structured, meticulous, and responsible, and comfortable working independently as well as with others. In your interactions with library users, it is important that you are outgoing and have a pedagogical approach. Previous work in a research or medical library is an advantage.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The position is a temporary contract as one of the colleagues is on parental leave, approximately 9 months with the possibility of extension.
